Thespian Hall was the center of Modern Times social life.It was a large concrete building on the corner of Third Avenue and Brentwood Road.Inside,there was a large room with a stage.Religious services were held on Sundays.
There were many meetings and discussions as well.
Modern Times was full of talented actors,singers,and dancers.They staged many plays,concerts,and dance recitals at the Hall,everything from Shakespeare to the village orchestra.Artists would hold exhibits,while popets and authors would stage readings of their works.And according to Verne Dyson,Thespain Hall was famous for what he called its
"love rites".According to one such story,the Saturday night dance would always end at different unknown times.Couples still dancing when the music stopped had to spend the weekend together.
